From July 23 to August 7, 2013, Gallery Al-Quds in Washington, D.C. presented "Nut over Tahrir", a two-week mural exhibition of Mona’s work.

The mural belongs to her series "Genetically Modified Spring" and draws on Egyptian mythology: the sky goddess Nut, protector of the dead as they enter the afterlife, is set over Tahrir Square, the heart of Egypt’s 2011 uprising.
